The Market Dome at Sunparks De Haan is the perfect place for visitors to immerse themselves in a tropical holiday atmosphere surrounded by lush greenery, pleasant temperatures, and a healthy indoor climate. We contributed to that comfort with a sustainable, tailor-made air handling solution.
Beneath the dome, a powerful Liberty air handling unit takes care of the entire air supply and extraction, with an impressive capacity of 54,000 m³/h. The unit is equipped with a sorption heat recovery wheel boasting an efficiency of over 75%, ensuring effective recovery of both heat and moisture. This results in a comfortable climate for visitors and improved energy efficiency earning the system an Energy Label A rating.
The salty North Sea air poses a significant corrosion challenge, especially so close to the coast. However, our solution features a plastic housing with corrosion resistance class CX (exceeding C5i/C5m), making it extremely durable in these harsh coastal conditions.
The technical setup came with a logistical challenge: Sunparks included a spacious technical basement underneath the Market Dome and Aqua Mundo with limited access. Fortunately, that was no issue for us and our partner, Bovema International. Together, we fully assembled the unit on-site, after which Bovema handled the professional installation and commissioning.
