CLEAN AIR IN A HEALTHY HOSPITAL?

Oplossingen | Zorg

Expert in air treatment

The global COVID-19 pandemic brought the importance of good medical care to the fore. Clean, safe air has proven to be an even more essential part of the many challenges facing the entire medical sector. Expertise in air treatment is therefore more important than ever. The consultant or designing installer draws up the plan and technical specifications. We are happy to help you translate your wishes into technical requirements.

Composite: hygienic, completely smooth and easy to clean

INFECTION PREVENTION
The air treatment system is an important part of the entire package of measures aimed at infection prevention. It goes without saying that the stability of the air management and air treatment system in an operating department with a certain overpressure is crucial for preventing post-operative wound infections and contamination by germs. The design of an air handling unit for the healthcare sector pays extra attention to operational reliability, hygienic materials, easily removable filters and accurate pressure control. Our Liberty composite air handling units have a completely smooth PET interior and the highest L1 airtightness class.

REDUCTION OF INFECTION CHANCES INVOLVING THE CORONAVIRUS
To reduce the chances of contamination, we advise you to not only follow the RIVM guidelines, but to supplement them immediately with the REVHA guidelines and extra ventilation to reduce the transmission route through the air. There is often insufficient ventilation, especially in residential care institutions. The number of respiratory tract infections generally depends on the amount of ventilation per person. See the graph from the Nardall & Keegan study, 1991.

REHVA measures

The European umbrella association for climate installations published its fourth version (17 November 2020) of the COVID-19 guidance document for safe management of air treatment installations in combination with the coronavirus. The most important measures from this document: “Keep the air handling unit running at a high flow rate. Ventilate with 100% fresh outdoor air, and do not recirculate. Maintain normal settings for heating, cooling and humidification.”

Sustainable through Life Cyle Cost analysis

A hygienic composite air handling unit with a Eurovent energy label A is a good start to achieve low energy costs for your institution. The Life Cycle Cost calculation from Indoor Climate Netherlands provides a lot of certainty and assurance that you are getting the most suitable implementation for your project.

For example, it is easy to compare up to three different air treatment systems in terms of energy, maintenance and investment costs in each calculation.

You can do this calculation yourself with a handy web tool at: www.vlalcc.nl. Your account manager will be happy to help you with the calculation.
